Educational Experience

My first week of school went by quick, it was kind of scary because i wasn't used to my classes and teachers. High school is way different from Middle school >.< Math is more difficult theres more steps to all of the equations, my elective is different from the ones we picked in Middle school, English is a little more advanced then English 8, World history is more advanced too, and for P.E  we do more stuff like run the bleachers and run around the track...which i dont like. So far High School is pretty fun its a new experiance that we are going to get used to. And theres still way more to experience!(X

    my first week at OHS was good.
i loved all my classes beacause they seemed interesting & i had atleast two or more friends in each class. (:
A goal for me for olympian high school is study hard and pass all my classes & graduate 12th grade with all a's, b's & atleast 1 C.

My name is Stephanie Aguilar. one of the things in my life i most enjoy is being with my friends. but specially dancing! Here in this picture i am showing my oldest cousin one of my favorite moves. i love dancing, i've been dancing since i was a little girl i was about 2 years old.

My experience at Olympian High

I think my first week here at Olympian high school was a positive experience.

I have great teachers, my classes are interesting and I have made a lot of new friends.

I am greatful of being in this school, I tought it was going to be difficult but is not, all my teachers have been very supportive and I'm doing really great in all my classes.

My name is Angelica Munoz. My hobbie is playing soccer . I've been playing soccer ever since i was five years old. I really do enjoy soccer and i have lots of fun playing it even though i get tired. the bad part about me playing the sport is that i get very competitive. Some bad things that have happend to while playing a game is that i've chipped my teeth and twisted my ancles many times. I really do enjoy this sport in 8th grade i was in the school's soccer team and we won the championship.

Hi my name is israel clemente, i love to play soccer , i play for pumas. and i am a really outgoing person. The thing that i love most on doing on free time is to play soccer with my friends. we play all afternoon until it gets dark outside. i just love the whole thing about soccer because it keeps me concentrated in an activity and not in doing other bad stuff such as drugs. ect i also ove spending time with my family on the weekends.

My name is Valeria Arenas, I'm 14 years old. I was born on January 17, 1997 at Chula Vista California. The first ten years of my life I lived in Mexico, then we moved about four years ago to the United States. I remember when I first came in I did not knew any English! And now I look at myself and I say wow, I can speak it know! I'm really proud of myself. I have improved allot in my English skills. I'm a really sweet person, I'm really strong and brave, I know whats best for me. I really enjoy modeling, its one of my dreams when I grow up to be a professional model and an expert astronomer.

My name is Leonardo Figueroa I am 13 years old but i will be 14 on october 11. i was born in San Francisco, but i was raised in San Diego. One of the things that i love to do is play soccer, i am a forward and a goalie. I also like to hangout with friends and listen to music. I didn't do my best in middle school but all of that is going to end. The reason for that is because I didn't really care as much but now it's different. I'm going to start paying attention in all my classes and do all the work that is assigned to me. I also like to go ride my bmx bike every once in a while, I do ride my bike to school everyday. My name is Oscar Frias, I was born at Chula Vista and I live the most part of my life in Tijuana, and just move to San Diego.

Part of my family live in Los Angeles so I go there very often.

One of the things I like to do is play my guitar and play basketball both are my passions and I love do both. I like to go to basketball practice to get better and learn more. My goals are to graduate from highschool and college/university and have a great job.

I like mountain biking because you get to ride in trails,mountains,and canyons.It is dangerous but its fun and you can always challenge yourself.I have fallen many times down hills and crashed against rocks but that doesn't stop me, I enjoy this sport.I will never say no if i'm asked if i want to go mountain biking, its the one thing i enjoy more than anything else.

My name is Pamela Garcia, I was born in Chula Vista ,but I was raised in Tijuana.

I'm fifteen years old and my birthday is on march 8th.

I went to Lazaro Cardenas middle school in Tijuana, this is my first year at Olympian High, I'm a Sophmore.

I want to be a special education teacher and help children with special needs.

For fun I go to the mall, to the movies and visit my friends. My favorite movie is "A walk to remember" and my favorite TV show is "Pretty Little Liars". I like all kinds of music and my favorite food is Italian. My goals in life are getting my high school Diploma, go to college, have a job and be successful in what I want to do for living.

My name is Ruben Castro. One of the things I enjoy in life is playing racquetball. Here in this picture, I am practicing my shots at Racquetball Rio in Tijuana. I usually practice my shots everyday at LA Fitness but since I was in Tijuana I decided to go to Racquetball Rio. Head Racquetball and my parents are talking about me getting sponsored by the company. My goals in this sport is becoming professional one day and playing with the best players in the world.

My name is Alex Salazar.  One of the things that I enjoy most in my life is teaching.  Here in this picture, I am featured with two AVID tutors from San Diego State University and several of my students--both juniors and seniors.  We are working in tutorial groups with the assistant of our great tutors.  On this particular day, I was smiling because I was very much satisfied with the students' work.  Passion and love best describe how I feel about teaching.

Experience I have in my first week at olympian highschool

I believe that I have a positive week at Olympian High , because I make friends and meet new people. For me there are no negative comments that I have of this highschool is nice and have a wonderfull teaching program that help us getting us more focus in class.

Academic Literacy Plan

How effective is the Academic Literacy Plan?  I am told to teach systematically and I believe this is the best way for an entire school to teach a set of 6 skills and 3 habits to a school that has over 1800 students.  Others may argue that this systematic approach of teaching inhibits a teacher's creativity within their classroom or does it?
